How to make an appointment

For your first appointment, you must contact the relevant outpatient clinic by telephone. You can find an overview of the departments within the outpatient clinics here.

Keep in mind that you always need a written referral for your first visit to the outpatient clinic. You cannot make an appointment without a referral.

What do we need from you to make an appointment?

Please have the following information available to make your appointment:

  • Name and address details.
  • Date of birth.
  • Phone number.
  • Specialism and / or specialist with whom you want to make an appointment.
  • SVB number or registration number of your health insurance.
  • Patient number (if you have one).

In order to make an appointment, you must have a reference letter from your General Practitioner.

  • Accepted file types: jpg, gif, png, pdf, doc, docx, Max. file size: 2 GB.

By car

At the roundabout on the Pater Eeuwensweg (coming from Banda Ariba), take the first exit to the right and enter parking garage level -1. From the other direction (Banda Abou), take the 3rd (third) exit on the roundabout.

You can drop off visitors at the main entrance 1 of the Curaçao Medical Center. You cannot park here, but only applies to dropping off visitors / patients.

By public transport

On Roodeweg there is a bus stop in front of the old “Colon” building. From here you can easily reach main entrance 1 and 2 on foot.

On the Pater Eeuwensweg there is also a bus stop in front of the SVB building and opposite the old St. Elisabeth Hospital. From here you can also easily reach the main entrance on foot.

In case of emergency care and during evening hours

In case of a life-threatening situation, you can reach Emergency Care via:

1. Atrium on the ground floor.

2. The Security Gate on the right side of the Colon building.

3. “At night you can reach the entrance to the Emergency Department via entrance 4 (next to the ambulance entrance).

Main entrance 2 (West) of the Curaçao Medical Center is open 24 hours for first heart care and maternity wives.

Parking garage

At the Curaçao Medical Center you can easily use the parking garage under the building. Two (2) floors with more than 500 parking spaces for cars and 22 parking spaces for motorcycles.

Along the black parking spaces in the parking garage, follow the blue line which will take you to the stairs and elevators to reach the Atrium. From the Atrium you can search for your route number on the map and easily find your way to the relevant care wing or appointment.

In 2020, parking at the Curaçao Medical Center will be free. Thereafter, there will be a small parking fee.

Visitor

Having a loved one in the hospital can be a stressful time. Within this section of our website, you’ll find a map, information regarding visiting hours, and amenities available when you visit.

We want you to know that you have an important role to play in the care of your loved one. You will be needed for support, and as a spokesperson and advocate for the patient. Your familiar face and reassuring touch at the bedside will be very important to the patient, and you are an essential part of the team caring for your loved one. All we ask is that all visitors follow our hospital rules to ensure safety of our patients.

We have adjusted our visiting hours at Curaçao Medical Center twice a day between 11am- 1pm and 5pm – 7pm. Guests are requested to please follow these rules:

  • Only ONE visitor, age 17 or older, may visit during this time. (Exceptions may be granted by the head nurse depending on the patients’ condition).
  • Visitor may only be allowed access the hospital with authorization form from the nursing department.
  • Visitors may not stay after hours without permission from the charge nurse.
  • Visiting hours differ for critical care areas (Pediatrics, NICU, and Intensive Care). Check with the charge nurse for special hours.

Please note that nurses may limit the number of visitors or visitation hours according to safety and patient condition. Visitors who are present in the hospital and need to stay on the inpatient floor after 7pm may only do so with the approval of the floor’s charge nurse.

Wireless Access

Our free wireless network, CMC guest, is available to anyone with a wireless enabled device. Chose the CMC guest wireless option from your wireless enabled device.

Dining

Curaçao Medical Center has a restaurant on Level 0 where patients and visitors can purchase food and beverage.

Hours of Operation:
8:00am – 7:00pm

Convenience Shop

The Convenience Shop is located in the Main Lobby, level 0. The convenience shop sells fresh flower arrangements, a selection of personal and toiletry items, basic drug store goods and much more.

Monday – Friday:  8:00am – 5:00pm
Occasionally, hours of operation may vary.

Banking

An automated teller machine (ATM) is located on level 0, next to the registration desk.

Security

Security officers are based throughout the hospital to assist you, visitors and staff should the need arise. The security team provides visitor passes, pickup and return of patient valuables, campus traffic control and after-hours patient information.
